Sergeant
United States Marine Corps
Sergeant Taylor graduated from high
School in Fairfax, Virginia, in 2000. He
enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2002.
After boot camp at Paris Island, South
Carolina, he was meritoriously advanced
to
Private
First
Class,
and
then
subsequently attended the Marine Combat
Training course at Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina, and the Field Artillery Cannon
Crewman course in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
From 2002 until 2005, he served as a
Cannoneer
with
Romeo
Battery,
5th
Battalion, 11th Marines, Camp Pendleton,
California.
In 2005, he completed the
Section Chief’s course for the M198
Howitzer and reported to Sierra Battery,
5th Battalion, 11th Marines, also at Camp Pendleton.
In 2006,
he was Honorably discharged from active duty.
In 2008, he was
recalled to active duty and attended the Section Chief’s Course
for the M777 Lightweight Howitzer, prior to serving with Mike
Battery, 3d Battalion, 11th Marines, in 29 Palms, California.
He reenlisted in 2009 and completed Fire Supportman MOS training,
and now serves with the Division Fire Support Coordination
Center, Headquarters Battery, 11th Marines, Camp Pendleton.
Sergeant
Taylor
has
three
Operation
Iraqi
Freedom
deployments and his personal awards include a Navy and Marine
Corps Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon.
