GETTING TO ASHEVILLE

FROM THE AIRPORT:

PICK-UP:  Due to limited means of transportation serving the Asheville airport, there are several options for arriving guests:

Option 1.  The hotel has several airport transfers for those guests who do not plan to rent cars.  You will be greeted at the airport by Accents on Asheville staff and directed to your vehicle.  Transfers are private to AMBA and direct to your hotel, The Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa.  This service is $35 per person one way, or $70 round-trip.  Please fill out this form to make a reservation.  (Attachment: Transportation Form)

Option 2.  Another option advertises that it is the Diamond Executive Transportation Service.  Diamond Executive caters to those who want the luxury of getting to a destination on time without the hassle of driving.  You will be greeted by professional drivers who are committed to providing the finest service with a personal touch in one of the Lincoln Sedans in their fleet.  This service is currently $40 per vehicle one way.  Contact information: Phone: 877-891-0339, E-mail: reservations@diamondexecutive.com.  For general information e-mail: info@diamondexecutive.com.

DRIVING:  Directions to The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa:
- From I-26 or I-40, take I-240 into Asheville.
- Take exit 5B, Charlotte Street.
- Proceed north on Charlotte Street for approximately .7 mile.
- Turn right on Macon Avenue and continue for .8 mile.
- The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa entrance will be to your left.

AIRLINES:  The Asheville Regional Airport (airport code: AVL) is nine miles Southeast of Asheville (25 minutes from The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa).  Primary airline carriers are ASA (Delta), ComAir (Delta) US Airways, Continental Express and Pinnacle (Northwest).

With a population of about 70,000, Asheville lies tucked between the ranges of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.  Vibrant and wholly unique, the city has an energy all its own, offering visitors a blend of art and nature, culture and mountain flavor.

Asheville’s downtown is located only five minutes from The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa.  With its colorful sights and historic buildings — the city features more Art Deco architecture than any other southeastern city outside Miami Beach — the downtown is best explored on foot, its streets lined with an inviting collection of restaurants, bookstores and shops.

Away from downtown, adventure abounds. From music festivals to hikes to scenic peaks, from whitewater rafting to gallery strolls, there is something here for just about everybody.

The city is known for the lavish Biltmore Estate, which attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists each year. Other notable architecture in Asheville includes its Art Deco city hall and other unique buildings in the downtown area.  The Montford neighborhood and other central areas are considered historic districts and include Victorian houses. Asheville and the surrounding mountains are also extremely popular in the autumn when fall foliage peaks in October.  The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway runs through the Asheville area and the grounds of Biltmore Estate. Biltmore Village is a section of the city adjacent to the estate, where workers stayed during its construction. It is currently home to small trendy shops.
